Watershed Plan Welcome
The protection and maintenance of water resources and values
is of primary importance within the watersheds as potential
future energy development occurs, including oil and gas
extraction on public lands. As potential future oil and
gas and other development takes place, the value of the
lands, waters and other resources in the watersheds will
continue to be emphasized for their importance to the economic,
social, and environmental well-being of the municipalities.
The Watershed Plan for the municipalities of Palisade and
Grand Junction will outline how the lands and waters will
continue to be protected, respected, and recognized for
their sustaining contributions to the local and regional
values, quality of life, and general well-being of the residents.
